Celebrating our Graduating Class of 2020!

A Sailor Tradition

Update: July 8, 2020

(From NMUSD)
Dear parents of a class of 2020 graduate,

As you know, in addition to the graduation broadcasts in June, each high school made tentative plans to celebrate graduates with an in-person summer event on campus contingent upon the health conditions and safety requirements at the time.

We had hoped that conditions by summer would improve for these in-person events to safely occur. However, due to the continued State and County requirements to avoid gathering in groups and the significant rise of COVID-19 cases within our county, the in-person events planned for the summer must be postponed until November. Each high school will provide details of their in-person event to the graduates, which will again be contingent upon State or County guidance and requirements at that time.

While it is disappointing that our graduates and staff cannot come together for a final event we want everyone to stay safe and look forward to an event later this year under better conditions.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Have a great summer!

(Info regarding YearBook pickup to be announced soon.)

All those who pre-purchased grad night tickets and/or paid for Sponsorship levels will be refunded by the PTA.

We want to extend the biggest thank you to those who have already given of their time and energy to Grad Night (underwriting, decor planning, website, accounting, prizes, invites, food) and to everyone else who was waiting to spring into action, thank you for your support, your enthusiasm and can-do positive spirit in getting all the way to here. This is not how we imagined we’d “go out” but so goes the unpredictability of these unprecedented times. We hope all the celebrations during the adhoc Graduation Week made your senior(s) feel seen and celebrated!

In addition, a very special thank you to Sean Boulton.  He has been, and continues to be, our students' biggest proponent

Wishing the very best to our resilient Class of 2020 and to the awesome parents who guided them. Go Sailors!

Warmly,

Sunny Beeker & Stacy Peterson Co-Chairs, Grad Night Committee
